New Dean of Men Appointed

Monsignor Michael Osborn, a priest from the Diocese of Kalamazoo, has been appointed by His Excellency, Archbishop Pietro Sambi, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, as Dean of Men for the School of Theology.

Monsignor Osborn earned his licentiate in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University and his doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Lateran University. He served in the Holy See working at the Pontifical Council Cor Unum where he was named a "chaplain to His Holiness" with the title Monsignor. He served as a vocation director for his diocese and more recently as a pastor.

Father Wehner, Rector, was delighted with his appointment. "We need good priests who can be exemplary formators for our future priests," he said.

"Monsignor Osborn brings a vast amount of priestly experience to this position and will undoubtedly serve the seminary community well. His energy and enthusiasm will be greeted with much joy by both the faculty and the seminarians. I am also very grateful that Bishop Paul Bradley, Bishop of Kalamazoo, has released Monsignor Osborn to serve in our priestly formation program. His generosity reflects the Bishop's solicitude for assuring that future priests are being prepared for the realities of pastoral ministry by priests who know these realities from first hand experience."
