Seventh Annual Irish Fest is February 25

The Pontifical College Josephinum welcomes the general public to its commemoration of the Feast of St. Patrick at the seminary’s sixth annual Irish Fest on Saturday, February 25, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The event celebrating Irish culture and heritage will be preceded by a Catholic Mass, followed by an evening of traditional Irish music, food and dance. Proceeds from the event will benefit seminarians in need.

Irish Fest proceeds provide financial assistance for seminarians':
Medical and dental expenses not covered by insurance
Books and related school supplies, computer needs
Clothing / personal hygiene needs
Shipping / postage costs related to personal items to and from home
Funding for special seminary outings
Visits to museums and shrines
Transportation expenses related to home visits during holidays

Mass

Mass will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. in the seminary’s St. Turibius Chapel.

Entertainment

Entertainment for the Irish Fest will be held in two venues on the Josephinum campus, both in the Recreation Center, and will include performances by:

Regan Academy of Irish Dance
Shamrock Club Pipes & Drums
Ladies of Longford
Knot Fibb'n
Maidens IV
The General Guinness Band

Refreshments

Beverages and food selections, including fish and chips, will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

Ticket Information

Tickets for the Irish Fest may be purchased at the door and are $20 for adults and $5 for children age 11-16. Children under 11 are free.

Pre-sale tickets ($15 adults; $5 children) may be purchased February 1 through 4 p.m. on Friday, February 24. Call 614-885-5585 to purchase tickets by credit card, or visit the reception desk in the main lobby of the Josephinum during business hours (weekdays 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.). Parking is free.
