Diaconate Distance Learning Program

WHO WE ARE

The Pontifical College Josephinum is a Roman Catholic seminary located in Columbus, Ohio.   It is the only pontifical seminary outside of Italy and was granted pontifical status in 1892 by Pope Leo XIII.  The Josephinum has continued the vision of its founder, Msgr. Joseph Jessing, by preparing clergy for the new evangelization and to serve the pastoral needs of the Church.  In fidelity to that vision, The Josephinum offers educational resources through distance learning to diaconal candidates and ordained permanent deacons.
 
The vision of the Pontifical College Josephinum is to strengthen diaconate education on a national and worldwide basis by offering courses that will help develop the personal ministry of the deacon.  Keeping true to that vision, The Josephinum established the Institute for the Formation and Ministry of the Permanent Diaconate in 2007.  It is from the Institute that the distance learning program was developed in conjunction with the National Association of Deacon Directors (NADD). This program focuses on developing courses that can be used by deacons to enrich their ministry through practical application.
 

COURSE OFFERINGS

Courses are taught the Fall, Summer, and Spring.  Each course is 12 weeks in length. You do not have to be present at a set time because the course work is self-paced.  There is no residency requirement and two semester hours of credit are earned for each course.   Students can register for courses by using the easy online registration form.  Early registration tuition incentives are offered for those who register in advance.  If you wish to recieve regular course updates or would like more information about our Distance Learning Program call 1-877-9DEACON (933-2266) or email deacons@pcj.edu

HOW TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES

If you are a NEW student then click on the "New Student Account Setup" button. Once you have registered your account you can go to the login page and register for classes. If you have taken classes with us before then you may log into your account by clicking on the "Returning Student" button below. Your login user ID is you email address. If you do not know your password, you should click on the "Returning Student" button and then select "Forgot Password" from the login page. Once this is done we will email your password to you.

Reset lost password (this is required if you forgot your password to this portal, or if you are a returning student and this is the first time you have logged into this portal)

Register for classes (once you have created an account (new students), or have reset your password (if required), then you are ready to sign up for classes)
