Mission of the Josephinum Journal of Theology

The mission of the Josephinum Journal of Theology is to provide a forum for scholarly essays in support of the intellectual life of the Church, and to facilitate its evangelical and pastoral ministry through dialogue with those of good will.

As a publication of the Pontifical College Josephinum, the editorial board of the Josephinum Journal of Theology fully supports the teaching of the Catholic Church. In order to facilitate a representative and high level of scholarship, we will publish essays addressing legitimate questions of debate within the Church from a variety of perspectives. Therefore, in providing this forum for the pursuit of truth through faith and reason, the Journal may publish appropriate works by authors who do not share the ecclesial and doctrinal commitments of the editorial board.

Although the essays published are primarily theological, they may also address related disciplines such as philosophy, history, psychology, and sociology, as these pertain to the mission of the journal. Our readers include scholars, pastoral ministers, and others interested in the intellectual life and mission of the the Church.

The Josephinum Journal of Theology is issued biannually (February and August) by the faculty of the School of Theology of the Pontifical College Josephinum, Columbus, Ohio.
