About Us

The Josephinum's Vision

The vison of the Pontifical College Josephinum is to form holy, generous, adaptable, and resilient priests dedicated to pastoral ministry in the 21st century.

From Our Rector/President

Since 1888, young men eager to grow in holiness and labor for the salvation of souls have been received as seminarians at the Pontifical College Josephinum, where they receive the finest possible formation for the Catholic priesthood.

As a former pastor, college campus ministry director, and professor of moral theology, I, along with my brother priests on the faculty of the Josephinum, bring to this seminary an integrated vision of priestly formation that understands the pastoral realities of our current times and prepares seminarians to serve people in the 21st century.

The priests on the formation team are present and engaged in the seminarians’ daily lives. We take seriously our role in forming men who will one day serve God and His people as holy, generous, adaptable, and resilient priests – men with good hearts who want to become saints and who want to help others to become saints.

The pages of this site share our rich traditions and unique offerings. I am honored by your interest in the House of Joseph, invite you to learn more, and hope you will join us in our mission to form the priests of our future Church.

Very Reverend
Steven P. Beseau, STD
