Application for admission to the Pontifical College Josephinum is made only after the individual obtains sponsorship from his diocese or religious community. Applicants must conform to all requirements and policies of the admissions process.

The admissions committee will review each completed application promptly, and the rector/president will inform the applicant of the status of his application. Only candidates who meet the requirements for acceptance will be considered by the admissions committee for admission in the fall semester of that year.

 

Application for admission as a seminarian into the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Theology at the Josephinum is made to:

In order for the Pontifical College Josephinum to consider an application, the following documents and forms must be reviewed and/or completed.

  1. College/Pre-Theology Application Form

  2. Non-Refundable Application Fee of $125.00

  3. College/Pre-Theology Canonical Suitability Profile Interview done with Vocation Director

  4. College/Pre-Theology Declaration of Freedom done with Vocation Director

  5. College/Pre-Theology Completed Psychological Assessment Procedures (includes Permission to Release Information Forms)

  6. College/Pre-Theology Chronological Log Form

  7. College/Pre-Theology Autobiography

  8. Letter of Sponsorship from (Arch)Diocese, Religious Superior or Vocation Director

  9. College/Pre-Theology Recommendation from any previous Rector

  10. Most recent Formation Report from any previous seminary or formation program

  11. Applicants coming from High School: Recommendation letter from an instructor

  12. Applicants coming from Post-Secondary School: Recommendation letter from a professor or instructor

  13. Certificates of Baptism and Confirmation

  14. Applicant's Record Request Form (to request transcript from previous institution)

 

Academic Documentation

  1. Official copy of High School transcript with graduation date or GED scores

  2. Official ACT or SAT test results (not required for those with a BA degree)

  3. Official copies of all post secondary transcripts

  4. Military education documentation, if applicable

 

Legal Documentation

  1. Original Birth Certificate obtained from Health Department

  2. Copy of Passport or Driver's License

  3. Criminal Background Check from state of residence

  4. Copy of Honorable Military Discharge or retirement, if applicable

 

Health Documentation and Photo

  2. Recent photograph (headshot) of the candidate
