The Friends of the Josephinum is a group of lay men and women who strive to provide financial assistance to seminarians so that their studies for the Catholic priesthood are not interrupted or terminated because of financial need.
The Friends of the Josephinum incorporates fun and fellowship into its many fundraisers and activities, interacting with and supporting the seminary community. Funds raised by the Friends of the Josephinum are used for seminarians’ scholarships and grants, books, medical and dental costs, clothing expenses, and a variety of other needs.
Calendar of EventsMembers of the Friends pledge an annual gift to support the organization. Dues for the 2024-2025 formation year are $200 per family for both new and returning members. *Members are welcome to observe Board Meetings. Please email Michele Cleary on the Sunday prior to each Board Meeting you plan to attend.
In February 1984, a group of area residents assembled to hear a presentation made by members of the Josephinum faculty concerning seminarians. Upon learning of the needs of these seminarians, the residents agreed to offer support. At the suggestion of one individual, the group was named Friends of the Josephinum. Response was immediate and sincere. Generous donations were made, and the birth of the organization was official.
The Friends of the Josephinum annually elects a Board from among its members, to manage the group’s volunteer activities, budget, and fundraising events. Committees include Communications; Clergy Who Cook; 4 Miler Run/Walk; Membership; Nominations; and the 40th Anniversary.
