NEWS FROM THE JOSEPHINUM

Josephinum to Welcome Senior Director for Major Gifts

The Pontifical College Josephinum is pleased to announce that Mr. Rick Jeric has been named Senior Director for Major Gifts, effective October 17, 2022.

As the senior major gifts officer for the seminary, Mr. Jeric will join the Advancement Office, working closely with Very Reverend Steven Beseau, Rector/President; Mr. Doug Stein, Vice President for Advancement; Advancement staff; and the Board of Trustees, to encourage and inspire people of faith to be generous partners in the Josephinum's mission to educate men for the Catholic priesthood. Mr. Jeric will guide the seminary's efforts in the areas of major gift solicitations, capital and special campaign gifts, and estate giving.

“I am delighted to welcome Mr. Jeric to the Josephinum staff,” said Father Beseau. “His deep and abiding Catholic faith and many decades of skilled fundraising experience will help to ensure the Josephinum’s continued excellence in the formation of holy, generous, adaptable, and resilient priests.”

Mr. Jeric brings to the Josephinum more than 30 years of experience in development and fundraising, most notably as chief fundraiser for the Diocese of Columbus, Executive Director of the Women’s Care Center in Columbus, and, most recently, as executive director of the Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin.

“I have loved being a part of the Josephinum in a variety of ways for the past 20 years” he said. “I am so very happy and humbled to join the community in a new and supportive way that will help continue this great legacy of future priests for the People of God.”

“The timing of Mr. Jeric’s arrival at the Josephinum is nothing short of providential,” said Mr. Stein. “In late-October, we will launch our Annual Fund, which this year has the most ambitious goal in our 134-year history – $1.8 million – designated for seminary operations and seminarian tuition assistance. I know Rick is eager to reconnect with many of the longtime connections he has made for the Josephinum over the years; he and I are looking forward to working together to support the mission of this exceptional seminary.”

Rick and his wife Theresa are the parents of three adult children. They are looking forward to their return to Central Ohio and to becoming active parishioners in the Columbus diocese.
