Forming young men with generous hearts to become the future shepherds of Christ’s flock has been the joy and the privilege of the Josephinum for well over a century.
As an independent seminary, the Josephinum receives no funding from Rome and is not staffed or operated by a particular diocese. Since the seminary’s beginning, providing priests to lovingly care for the Lord’s flock has required – and has brought forth – an abundance of generosity from the faithful, which has and continues to sustain its mission.
Gifts to the Pontifical College Josephinum are used to support a number of initiatives, which include:
Classroom instruction
Spiritual formation programs
Gifts to support divine worship in the seminary chapels
Guest lectures by renowned theologians, Scripture scholars and others
Ministry opportunities for students
Workshops and conferences for teachers and students
Vocations promotion and recruitment
Computers and technology for classrooms and student rooms
Health services for students
Continuing education and professional development for our faculty
Financial aid for seminarians and lay ministry students
Aid for seminarians with emergency needs
Sabbaticals for faculty
Special learning opportunities abroad
Homiletics program
Development of continuing education programs
Liturgical books for seminarians
