Make a Gift Today

Ways to Give Today

There are many ways to make a gift to the Josephinum. Whether you decide to make a gift today or to plan a gift for the future, we are indebted to you for your prayers and support and humbled by your faith in our mission. Your generosity is a gift to the seminarians who have embarked on the exciting journey of preparing to become tomorrow’s shepherds.

Cash, Check or Credit Card Donations

These donations are critical to our mission of forming seminarians who seek holiness – men who want to be saints and bring others to holiness. Thank you for supporting our seminarians as they are formed in the House of Joseph.
If you prefer to write a personal check, please make it payable to “Pontifical College Josephinum” and mail to:

Monthly and Recurring Gifts

These gifts allow the Josephinum to develop an operating budget that is timely, realistic, and achievable.

Recurring gifts that equate to $1,500 or more annually qualify for invitation to our Rector’s Circle.

Gifts from Retirement Accounts: For Those 70½ and Older

Any amount up to a maximum of $100,000 per year may be given tax-free from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as the Josephinum. It is very important that the gift from your IRA comes directly to the Josephinum to ensure tax deductibility. This popular gift option is also called the “IRA charitable rollover” or “qualified charitable distribution (QCD).”

Why Consider This Gift?

  • Your gift will be put to use today, allowing you to see the difference your donation is making.
  • Beginning the year you turn 72, you may use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).
  • You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize deductions.
  • Since the gift does not count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.

Individual Retirement Account (IRA) or 401(k) plan/403(b) plan can also be transferred at death. You, as the donor, must fill out a beneficiary designation form with your plan’s administrator. Check with your financial planner on the tax consequences with retirement plan assets.

Memorial & Tribute Gifts

Gifts in memory or in honor of a friend, relative, Josephinum alumnus, professor, or priest are a deeply meaningful way to pay tribute to individuals who have made a lasting difference in our lives. These gifts are gratefully acknowledged with notification sent in a timely fashion to next of kin.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Please inquire with your employer’s human resources officer to obtain a matching-gift request form. Complete the form and send it to our Advancement Office. These gifts make a significant difference, and employers willingly accommodate utilizing corporate funds that have been set aside for matching gifts.
